Figure 2: Impaired fatty acid oxidation in senescent cells leads to increased fat storage. Induction of cellular senescence induces mitochondrial dysfunction and impaired fatty acid oxidation, thus contributing to in-creased cytosolic fat accumulation (lipid droplets).
